The LG ThinQ app is the official remote app for all LG Smart TV models. It is available for Android and iOS devices. With the LG ThinQ app on your phone, you can remotely control your LG TV without the use of a remote. How to Pair LG ThinQ App to LG Smart TV

1. First, connect the LG TV to the WiFi, which should be the same as your smartphone.

2. Open the Play Store or App Store on your phone and install the LG ThinQ app.

3. Open the LG ThinQ app on your phone and log in to your LG account. Hit the +Add a Device displayed at the bottom center.

4. Below the LG Products section, locate and tap the option TV. Then, pick your LG TV.

5. A pairing code will be shown on the LG TV screen. Make a note of the code and type the same code on the LG ThinQ app. After that, follow the instructions shown on the screen to complete the setup process.

How to Use LG ThinQ App to Control LG Smart TV

On the app’s home screen, select the TV option and hit View All under the Remote Control section to open the virtual remote interface. After opening it, you will see several remote icons on the app. Just point your smartphone towards the TV and press any icon to perform the required function.

What You Can Do With LG ThinQ App?

The major functions you can perform using the LG ThinQ app are discussed below.

  • With the Power icon at the top right, you can turn off your LG TV without a remote.
  • The Volume icons let you increase or decrease the volume with just a tap. It also has a Mute icon to mute the sound.
  • The LG ThinQ app’s virtual remote has a dedicated Input icon. With this, you can easily access and change the LG TV input in seconds.
  • It also has several icons, like Home, Back, and Settings.
  • You can also trigger the Voice Assistant by selecting the Mic icon at the bottom center.
  • Left to the Mic icon, you will see the D-Pad icon. By choosing it, you will see the directional pads on the screen.
  • In addition, you will see a keyboard icon at the top and the Num pad icon at the bottom.
  • At the bottom-right corner, you will see the Play/Pause icon to play or pause the video.

Using Hands-free Voice Control on the LG ThinQ App

After pairing the LG TV with the LG ThinQ app, tap the Mic icon in the app. On the LG TV screen, select Help at the bottom. You can see a few examples of the voice command phrases. Tap the Settings icon on the top right and toggle on the Use Hands-free Voice Control option.

To turn on the LG TV via voice commands, say the trigger word, “Hi, LG.” If the device detects the trigger word, it will make a chime sound and show a voice recognition image. Once you hear the sound, say, “Turn on the TV.” Similarly, you can say voice commands based on your purpose.

Share Your Phone Screen on LG TV

You can also screen mirror your phone on the LG TV. To do it, go back to the TV section on the app and move to the Share section. Select the toggle button placed near the option View Phone Screen on TV’s Larger Screen to enable it. Then, tap Start Now on the pop-up menu.

After that, select Yes in the menu shown on the LG TV screen. Within seconds, your phone screen will be displayed on your TV.
