Control Dish TV Using DISH OnePoint Remote App
If you have an iPad running iPadOS 9.0 and above, you can get this application from the App Store. Keep in mind that this application is not available for Android and iPhone to download.
1. Launch the DISH OnePoint application on your iPad. Ensure that you connect your iPad and receiver to the same WiFi.
2. Click on the Receivers at the bottom of the home page.
3. The list of all the receivers that are already connected to your app will appear in that.
4. To connect a new receiver, tap the Find Other Devices option at the bottom of the page.
5. From the list of available receivers, select the one that you want to connect with the DISH OnePoint app.
6. A pairing code will be shown on the Dish-connected TV screen. Enter the code on the app, and a pop-up with a successful pairing message will appear.
7. If you want to rename your device, rename it and tap Continue.
8. Once you paired your receiver with this app, tap the Remote option at the bottom of the app.
9. The app will switch to a remote interface. In that, select the receiver you want to control using the DISH OnePoint app icons.
Use the IR Remote Apps to Control Your Dish TV
Since the Dish OnePoint app is available only for iPad, Android users can use the IR remote apps to control their Dish TV. Unlike DISH OnePoint, third-party IR remote apps do not require a WiFi connection to work.
It only requires an Android phone with a built-in IR blaster. After the installation, run the IR remote app on your smartphone and select the suitable Dish TV remote.
