Instead of searching for the lost remote, you can readily control your Aim TV by installing and using the remote app on your phone. Since Aim TV uses its own operating system, you cannot use remote apps like Google TV and LG ThinQ. The only way to control your Aim TV is through third-party remote apps. Here, we will show you the steps for pairing the Aim TV with the remote app and using it.
Use the IR Remote App to Control AIM TV
Before you install the IR remote app on your smartphone, double-check whether your Android phone has a built-in IR blaster. Further, if you are an iPhone user, you cannot use this app as it is unavailable on the App Store.
1. Take your Android phone, open the built-in Play Store, and install the Aim TV Remote.
2. On the app’s home page, click the + icon at the top of the screen to add a remote. You can also tap the + Add Remote option.
3. Once you click the Add Remote option, point your phone towards your AIM TV and press the Power button.
4. Your Aim TV will power off if it responds to the remote commands. If it does not turn off, you need to select the next remote and try operating your TV.
Note: If your TV does not respond to the app’s command, which means your phone does not have an IR blaster. Buy an external IR blaster adapter from Amazon, connect it to your phone, and use the app.
5. You can save the remote interface that controls your AIM TV and access it later using the Saved Remote option.
If you are uncomfortable using IR remote apps, buy a replacement remote for your AIM TV from the retail remote outlets. If no replacement remote is available for AIM TV, you can buy a universal remote from Amazon.
