If your TV remote is broken, lost, or stopped working, you may look for the remote app and use it as an alternative. What if your TV brand doesn’t have a dedicated remote app? In such cases, you can use a reliable universal remote app like SURE – Smart Home and TV Unive. The SURE app is compatible with Android 5.0 and up devices and can be downloaded from the Play Store for free. This article provides the steps to control your TV using the SURE remote application.
Steps to Control TV Using the SURE App
The SURE universal remote app can control your TV in two ways. If your phone has an IR blaster, the app will use infrared signals to control your TV. In case your phone does not have an IR blaster, you can control your TV via WiFi. To do so, you need to pair your TV and phone to an identical WiFi.
1. Download the SURE universal remote app on your Android phone from the Play Store.
2. Once you install the app on your phone, tap Get Started on the welcome page.
3. Now, login to the app using your SURE account by entering the Email ID and Password. If you are new to using the app, hit Create Account to sign up.
4. Click on the Add icon on the app’s home page.
5. Next, select the type of remote you need from the two options. If your mobile phone has a built-in IR blaster, select the Traditional Remote (IR) option. If not, select Smart Remote (WiFi). Tap OK after selecting any one of the above options.
6. Further, you need to select your device type. If you need to control the TV, you should select TV from the list.
7. Then, pick your TV brand. A list will show up 100 TV brands. Find your TV brand by scrolling and select it.
8. Once you select your TV brand, the Test Remote page will appear on the screen. Point the remote towards your TV and press the buttons to test it. If your TV does not respond, tap the right arrow mark to switch to the next remote.
9. Conversely, if you have selected WiFi, your TV name will appear on the active devices list. Pick your TV and type the PIN to pair it with the app to control it. The IR users can skip this and move to the next step.
10. Tap the Success! Save Remote button once your TV responds to the remote commands.
11. Now, a remote interface will launch on your smartphone screen. You can now operate your TV using a smartphone.
