How to Control TV Using the BroadLink App
As mentioned earlier, you should definitely have a BroadLink smart universal remote to use the BroadLink app. The BroadLink Hub that comes with the remote acts as a signal transmitter. When you press any button on the remote, the Hub receives the command and sends it to the paired device. To make this work, you should configure the remote and link your device using the BroadLink application.
1. Install the BroadLink app on your handheld device from the Play Store or App Store.
2. Once you install the app, open it and allow all the necessary permissions.
3. Next, you have to select your Region.
4. Login to your BroadLink account by entering your Email ID and Password. If you are a new user, you need to create a new account. You can also log in to the app using Apple or Google account.
5. Select the American Server or European Server according to the region in which you live.
6. Next, turn on your BroadLink remote, and an LED light on the remote will blink. If the LED flashes intermittently, the device is in AP mode, and if it blinks rapidly, then it is in Smart Configuration mode. Your device will be in AP setup mode if you are configuring it for the first time.
7. Tap Add Device on the BroadLink application. Then, it will ask whether your device is in AP mode. Tap Yes to proceed with the AP setup.
8. Your BroadLink device will act as a WiFi device, and tap Allow to connect your smartphone to BroadLink WiFi device.
9. Now, the app will look for your BroadLink device that is in AP mode. Tap Continue and connect your BroadLink device to your home WiFi network. Next, pair your smartphone to the same WiFi network that your BroadLink device is also connected to.
10. Next, select your BroadLink universal remote on the Add Devices page. Your remote will be successfully added to the app.
Note: If your device is in Smart Configuration mode, you can directly connect your remote to WiFi and add the remote.
11. On the app’s home page, tap the + icon and tap Add Remote.
12. Click on the IR/RF devices and tap Universal Remote.
13. Tap the TV icon from the list and select your TV brand.
14. A list of IR remote options will appear on your screen. Select Option 1 and tap the Test Option 1 button.
15. Press the Power button on the interface by pointing the smartphone towards your TV. If your TV turns off, tap It Works Well. If not, tap Not Work to test the next option.
