Sometimes, you may find yourself stuck in a situation where you must turn on your Sharp TV without a remote. Though it seems irritating, worry not! There are many ways to switch on the Sharp TV without a remote control. This article explains how you can use remote alternatives to turn on the Sharp TV.
Turn On Sharp TV using the Power Button
Everyone’s first look when the Sharp TV remote does not work is looking for the TV panel button. Most Sharp TVs have a dedicated Power button on the underside or on the left or right side of the panel. Once you identify the Power key, press and release it once. You can see a logo on the TV screen indicating that the TV is powered on.
Turn On Sharp TV using the IR Remote App
Sharp TV can also be turned on by the IR-based remote app. The basic requirement is that you should have an Android mobile with an IR blaster built-in. Upon installing the IR remote app, launch it and choose a remote that resembles your TV remote.
Then, aim the smartphone at the TV sensor and press the Power button. If your TV captures infrared signals, it will switch off the TV. Again, press the Power key to turn it on. If you do not know which remote app to use, have a look at our suggestions.

Power On the Sharp TV using Voice Commands
If your Sharp TV is in standby mode, you can use voice commands to wake up the TV. However, it is important to set up the voice function on your Sharp TV earlier. If so, open the compatible remote app for your Sharp TV and switch it to the control interface. Hit the Mic button in the remote app and say the following.
- Google Assistant – Hey Google, Turn on the Sharp TV.
- Amazon Alexa – Alexa, Turn on the Sharp TV.
Once your Sharp TV detects voice commands, it will power it on.
Switch On the Sharp TV using External Devices
If you own an external device that supports the HDMI-CEC feature, you can use it to turn on the Sharp TV. To do so, ensure your external device (console, streaming device, or set-top box) is connected to the Sharp TV’s HDMI port. Then, change the input on Sharp TV to the source you plug in.
Further, go to the TV settings and external device settings and enable the HDMI-CEC or CEC Device Control option. The setting name will vary depending on the TV model. Now, your Sharp TV is all set to match the power state of a HDMI-connected device. From now on, if you power on/off your external device, the Sharp TV will also turn on/off.
Turn On the Sharp TV using Power On Time
Sharp Aquos TVs have a setting called Power On Time. If you enable this setting, your Sharp Android TV will turn on at a scheduled time. To turn it on, use the remote app and go to Settings. Further, select Device Preferences, tap Timer, click Power On Time Type, and choose On.
Next, go back to the previous menu and click Auto Power On Time. Choose the time you want your Sharp TV to be turned on. That’s it. If you keep your Sharp TV in standby mode, it will turn on automatically at the scheduled time.
